Polish Stunt Double: NOT Girly Bits Eggnogoholic
Pin It
You've heard of nail polish dupes, but that's not what this is. A polish stunt double is a polish that has some prominent features in common with a loved or lusted after nail polish, but on even the most basic examination, the two won't be confused. Think of it as really wanting a strawberry milkshake, but getting a strawberry smoothie instead. It is still good, will satisfy your craving for something fruity and creamy for a while, but you will eventually want to get your hands on that strawberry milkshake. Allow me to show you a polish that I really want and how I am curbing my craving for that nail polish.

BBHQ: How do you photograph for your blog?
This was the December task for the Beauty Blogger Headquarters, but it has overflowed into January. I take all my blog pictures using my Canon PowerShot S3 IS 6MP Digital camera. My husband and I bought it before our daughter was born, knowing that we would want to take tons of pictures. . . And we have. It actually works very well for my manicure pictures too, with a good macro setting. It took me a while to figure out the best way to light my photos, but over the past couple of months I think I worked that out.

Longer, More Voluminous Eyelashes: Follow-Up
Pin It
I am joining the Friendly Friday Blog Hop this week. I meant to do a followup post back in July, so I feel terrible that it took me so long, especially since people have checked back for the followup from this original post. I was testing to see if using extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil on my eyelashes might help them to grow.
I have continued to use both oils since the original post, not for eyelash growth, but as makeup remover and not quite everyday. So, here are the before and after photos.

Adventure Red-y and a failed experiment in Liquid Sand
Pin It
Hello. I am sorry for being so absent, but I have been ill and am only beginning to feel myself again. For my return to health, please allow me to show you the lively manicure I wore this past week. China Glaze Adventure Red-y is a highly pigmented blood red. It is almost a one coated too!Forgive the tip wear; this was five days into the manicure and it was about to be removed.

Happy Friday! I am showing you a lovely polish that is sadly sold out now, but I did tell you about it before it sold out, so hopefully, if you love it, you were able to snag yourself a bottle.

Polish Days: First True Saran Manicure
Pin It
So much fun!!! I love Polish Days!!! And this is a technique that I have been dying to try out, but hadn't gotten around to yet. Yippee!!! Sorry about the excitement, but did I mention how much I love Polish Days? . . . Yup, I sure did; well it bears repeating. Thanks to Hannah for coordinating the fun! All right, I'm going to try to avoid using exclamation points for the rest of this post, because if one more appears, I don't think that anyone will take me seriously ever again.

China Glaze Desert Sun with Julep Mystery Glitter

Hi there. Are you having a good weekend so far? I wanted to show you this quick little mani that I wore for two days. I planned for it to be a full glitter manicure, but after seeing this glitter polish on the nail, I decided that it would be better as an accent nail.

Zoya Remove+ vs. Julep Remover vs. Homemade moisturizing remover
Pin It
Hi everyone! Before I take you to this post, I just want to say, this is my 100th post!! I can't believe it. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this little blog. Thank you to any of you who share your thoughts, comments and suggestions with me and thank you to all of you for inspiring me! OK, on with the post.
I have always been intrigued by Zoya Remove+, and finally got some a couple of months ago. What you see above are the results of one swipe of each polish remover on index, middle, and ring fingers.
